Diekirch – Sauertal – Bourscheid – Rindschleiden

Departure in the morning via Ettelbruck to Diekirch. Visit of the National Museum of Military History, with dioramas of the Battle of the Bulge during winter of 1944-1945. Then visiting the National Museum for Historical Vehicles in the former car factory Jean Wagner, the only historical place in the Grand-Duchy in relation to the development of the automobile in Luxembourg. Lunch in Erpeldange / Ettelbruck. In the afternoon, continuation to the picturesque Sauertal, Michelau, Bourscheid-Moulin, Bourscheid: Visit of the castle of Bourscheid, which is located on a brow of a hill, accessible only from the north-west, overlooking the right bank of the Sauer, at an altitude of 360-380 m above sea-level. The road leads us to Kehmen and Heiderscheid with a beautiful view over the Oesling, Eschdorf, Grevels to Rindschleiden. Visit of the historic church of Rindschleiden from the 10th century, with frescoes from the 15th and 16th century on a 170 sqm area. Onwards via Bettborn and Niederpallen. Possibility of dinner. Return via Noerdange, Hobscheid, Steinfort to Luxembourg.
